Expert evidence plays an important—and sometimes pivotal—role in intellectual property dispute resolution. However, the roles and responsib ilities of the expert in preparing a report or giving witness testimony is often misunderstood or shrouded in mystery.
This full d ay course seeks to introduce participants to the world of expert evidence w ith a focus on patent and IP valuation disputes, whether in court or be fore a tribunal (e.g. in arbitration proceedings).
The course will cover:
Upon completion of the course, subject-matter experts who qualify (e.g. Principal Investigator/Le ad Scientist/Research Group Lead or equivalent, and above) and professional valuers who qualify will be included in a list of technical/valuation expe rts maintained by IPOS, which parties to a patent or other IP-related dispu te can consider appointing as an expert witness. Those on the list may also be invited to join the WIPO List of Neutrals.
As part of APIEx’ collaboration with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPO)S , we are pleased to confirm a 20% discount for APIEx members who sig n up for the course.
