Asia Pacific Institute of Experts (APIEx) recently concluded its latest (4th) successful run of its International Accreditation Course for Expert Witnesses on 24 April 2025.
The Course provided an introduction to the world of experts and expert evidence and examines the role of evidence in disputes resolution, both in the courts and before other tribunals such as arbitral tribunals. Participants were acquainted with the law relating to opinion evidence (expert testimony), the role of experts in dispute resolution and the relevant Singapore law applicable to expert evidence. In this intake, we also offered 2 Specialist Tracks which focused on the specific nuances of giving evidence as a marine expert and a finance/valuation expert.
Thanks to our cohort of 30+ course participants from Australia, HK, Malaysia and Singapore who attended virtually or physically our first hybrid course. Our gratitude goes out to Prof Leslie Chew PBM, SC, Dr You Chuanman, Darren Benger, Geoff Green and Sarah Weinberg for being part of our teaching faculty. And the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) for sponsoring the venue!
For those who braved the 90-minute open book MCQ examination either in-person or online, the results are finally out!
